今日の昼も新規開拓。この前のHouse of Soul Foodの隣の"Bluz By-You"。Cajun料理のレストラン。いつものroach coachよりはちょっと高級。"Bluz By-You"という名前よろしく、店内でライブ演奏付き。頼んだのは"Blackened Catfish Po'Boy"
ナマズを"Blackening"してPo'Boyサンドイッチにケイジャン風味フライドポテト付き。まあ味的には可もなく不可もなく。フライドポテトのケイジャン風味がちょっと物足りない。これならFive Guysのcajun friesのほうがそれっぽい。
ちなみにナマズの調理法、"Blackening"と"Southern Fried"が選べる。後者は文字通り油で揚げる訳だけれど、前者の"Blackening"という調理法、これはケイジャン料理でよく使うもの。Wikipediaによれば、

ところで今日の日記タイトル、よく見たら全ての語が南部にちなんでいる。"Blackened", "Catfish", "Po'Boy", "Bluz(Blues)"はいいとして最後の"By-You"、もちろん"blues by you"というブルーズライブ演奏というのが第一義の意味なんだろうけど、"By-You" = "bayou"にかけてるんだと思う。Cajun地域によくある、流れのゆっくりした川、湿地帯のことを指す言葉。ここでまたまたWikipedia登場：
