まあでも一番良く使われるのが、雑誌やメーリングリストに登録する、だよなぁと思って英辞郎を見てみたら、
第一義は、「〔契約書・申込書などに〕署名する、サインする、記名する」。うーんこれは頻度的に第一義じゃないんじゃいの？しかも「（思想に）同調する」という意味の件がないし。Wiktionaryだと、
