一ヶ月の間に二度満月がくる場合、２回目の満月のことを"Blue Moon"と呼ぶらしい。で、今日がそのBlue Moonなんだそうである。
The month of July 2004 has two full moons, which means one of them is a Blue Moon. But will it really be blue? Believe it or not, scientists say blue-colored moons are real.
英語だと"once in a blue moon"というと、とっても珍しいことを指すらしいが、IPOで大騒ぎのGoogleによれば、1000日弱に一度の事らしい。
家のデジカメで今日のBlue Moonを撮影してみたが、何となく青く見えるような気もする（笑）。
