Highway 152 is notoriously dangerous, with its narrow junctions, uphill paths, and often gusting winds and fog. The accident rate along the 13-mile stretch of concrete is as much as 58 percent higher than on similar two-lane highways in California. Last year there were 225 crashes on the road, causing 115 injuries and 9 deaths.
このHwy 152、ここベイエリアから南カリフォルニアに行くためにI-5に乗ろうとするときに通る峠道ですが、確かに怖いです。道が狭い上にワインディング、おまけに長距離トラックが結構飛ばしている。。。この前Death Valleyに行ったときも気が休まりませんでした。
早く安全な道にして欲しいもんですねぇ。
