選挙権ないんで詳しく見てなかったけど、今年11月の選挙でこんな案が挙がってんのか。
固定資産税、もちろん不動産評価額から決められるんだけれど、その上昇を抑えるのがProp 13。なので隣人同士、家の評価額がほぼ同じでも、固定資産税がめちゃめちゃ違ったりする。昔家を手に入れたシニアには優しい規則だけど、最近家を買った人からすると不公平感否めない。
んで、今回の改定案：
The initiative on the fall ballot would allow homeowners who are 55 or older, disabled, or who lost their homes in a natural disaster to transfer their current property tax assessment to a new home—even if that new house is more expensive.
５５歳以上のシニアが家を購入した場合、現在の固定資産評価額を引き継げる、というもの。うー、これはますます不公平感が広がるんじゃないの？
