またBlack-ishからなんだけど、ホント勉強になるなこのドラマ。
奥さんが職場で受けたmicroaggressionについて義理の母と議論、というシーンなんだけど、元になった職場のシーン、奥さんがUSCの医学部を修了したことへの（白人の）同僚の一言、
"good for you!"
これだけなんだけど、奥さんはこれをaffirmative actionがあったから入れたんだよね、と解釈。んで、他の（白人の）同僚もこれがなんでmicroaggressionなのか気づかない。これでどーんと落ち込む奥さん。
自分もこの"good for you"、「よかったね～」的に何気なく使ってきたけど、文字通り解釈すると結構？な部分もあるんで気をつけよう。
「まんぷく」はまさに今即席麺が発明されようとしているけど、これはインドのインスタント麺の話。
他の東南アジア諸国と違って、インドには固有の麺がないという認識だったんだけどインスタント麺でネスレのMaggiというブランドが根強い人気なんだそう。2015年にそこの麺から基準値を大幅に超える鉛が検出。販売禁止に。それでも、

アメリカの禁酒法時代よろしく、熱狂的なファンが以前Maggiをメニューに載せていたチェーンレストランに「絶対ストックが有るはずだから出してくれ！」と嘆願するほど。
うーん、味は多分想像通りなんだろうけど、そこまで言われるとちょっと試してみたくなる。今度インディアングローサリー寄ってみようかな。

これのテーマだったのが"colorism"。白人・黒人間の差別は明確だけど、同じ人種内でも色の濃淡で差別があること。
Discrimination based on skin color, also known as colorism or shadeism, is a form of prejudice or discrimination in which people are treated differently based on the social meanings attached to skin color.[1]
特に黒人の場合、light skin/dark skinの間は微妙な関係にあり、実際昔は

ランチ用の茶色紙袋より皮膚の色が濃いか薄いかで差別の対象だったケースがあったんだそう。 うーむ奥深い。
んで、Black-ishに戻るけど、奥さんは実は白人とのハーフでlight skin、旦那はdark skinなところがミソ。家族間でcolorismについて大激論になるんだけど、このドラマ設定をしたプロデューサーは賢い。
cultural appropriation = 文化の取り入れ
cultural assimilation = 文化の同化
カリフォルニアロールは"cultural appropriation"。自分がスモークバーベキューにハマるのは"cultural assimilation"。時々どっちか混乱する。
関係ないけど、件の人は明日のグラミー出ないんだって。
