= 棄権（下院専用用語）
下院の議長選出のゴタゴタ、ようやく15回目の投票でKevin McCarthyに決まったけど、共和党の反対派は棄権票。それで使ってた表現が"voting for present"。はじめ意味わからなかったけど"abstain"と同義らしい。
In the United States House of Representatives and many other legislatures, members may vote "present" rather than for or against a bill or resolution, which has the effect of an abstention.
しかし今後の下院、めんどくさそうだなｗ。15回も投票したのは近年稀に見ることだったそうだけど、歴史的には、
133回投票、2ヶ月間決まらなかったこともあったらしい。
