今朝の通勤途中のNPRで解説していたそれぞれの言葉の定義。
outbreak: a sudden increase in the number of a certain illness.（ある種の病気にかかる人の数が突然増加すること）
epidemic: an outbreak of a contagious disease that spreads rapidly and widely.（outbreakで、広域に渡り急速に広まる感染症によるもの）
pandemic: disease has spread across a wide geographic area and is affecting a large portion of the population, typically millions.（地理的に広範囲に渡って広まった、数百万人規模に影響する病気）
現在Swine Fluは未だoutbreakとして定義づけられているらしい。
