2月も残す所後2日。そんな中Black-ishはやっぱりBlack History Month。
子どもたちが学校で習うのはいつも同じ人々、うわべだけの教育に嫌気が差したDre。俺が"unsung hero"な偉人を紹介するぜ、と意気込んだものの、結局一人にまとめられない、という筋なんだけど、その中で出てきたのが「ピーナツバターを作った黒人」として紹介されてた人。
George Washington Carver (1860s[1][2] – January 5, 1943), was an American agricultural scientist and inventor. He actively promoted alternative crops to cotton and methods to prevent soil depletion.[3]
ただ、ピーナッツを使った発明は多々あれど、
As the US National Peanut Board confirms, "Contrary to popular belief, George Washington Carver did not invent peanut butter."[10] Carver was given credit in popular folklore for many inventions that did not come out of his lab.
ピーナツバターが彼の発明、というのはmythなんだそう。
