奥が中華スーパーで仕入れた大麦。中国語だとこう書くのか。
これを使って抹茶粥にしてパンに投入することを思いつく。前日から抹茶に浸して、
例によって固めのおかゆにしてドウに投入。
なんかグリンピースみたいな感じ。嫌いだったなぁグリンピースご飯。
焼き上がり。
今日も夕飯提供、ナイフで切ってみたら、
うーむ、なんかカビてるみたいだw。でもしっかり抹茶味&おかゆでしっとり。
= 海馬。
タツノオトシゴ、通常英語だと"seahorse"なんだけど、学名だとこう言うらしい。まあ"seahorse"も直訳すれば「海馬」だけど。
人体の部位を表す単語、動物由来のものが多い、というコラム。んで、"hippocampus"という単語をこう説明。

The hippocampus was a mythological sea creature who was part horse – ‘hippo’ is Greek for “horse” — and part fish. "hippo"はギリシャ語だと「馬」なんだそう。んで、hippocampusはもともとギリシャ神話の半身が馬、残りが魚の生き物だったそうだけど、イタリアの解剖学者が脳の部位がこの生き物の尻尾に似てることからこう名付けたそう。子供の頃から「海馬」って脳の部位にしては変な名前だなぁと思ってたけど、こんな由来があったのか。
"hippo"=英語でカバ=「河馬」というのも変な偶然。じゃなくてやっぱりこのhippoもギリシャ語の「馬」から。省略されてる部分の"potamus"がギリシャ語で「河」
