私の上司の上司だった彼、数年前にステルスモードのスタートアップに転職していった。長男の中学卒業式でばったり会って（実は2ブロック先に住んでいるご近所さん）話をした時も、エンジニアリングディレクターとしてよろしくやっている様子だった。

まあ彼には悪いけれど、スタートアップに転職してそこが資金切れで潰れるのはよくある話。バブルの頃でさえ十中八九失敗するといわれていたんで、今はもっとひどいだろう。で、うわぁと思ったのはその先、facebookでの彼のコメント。要約すると、彼が失業した事実を知った元妻が、「失業してても平気なのは彼がどこかに資産を隠し持っているからだ」という理由で訴訟を起こしてきたらしい。
アメリカで離婚するべきでないと改めて思い知る。
