悪夢のチーズの悪夢。

前に話題に上げた悪夢チーズ、スティルトン。今日こんな記事を読む。

LONDON -- LONDON (AP) ― They make fine cheese in the English village of Stilton. Just don't call it stilton.
British authorities said Wednesday that a local pub can't market its blue-veined cheese as stilton because that name is protected by European Union legislation.

Stiltonにあるパブが作ったブルーチーズに"stilton"という名前が付けられないというお話。"Stilton"という名称はEUで産地が規制されている様子。まあ「シャンパン」と同じようにシャンパーニュ以外では「スパークリングワイン」と呼ばなければいけないのと同じ話らしい。ただ唯一違うのが、名前を提供したStilton自体が、stiltonチーズの産地(Leicestershire郡, Derbyshire郡, Nottinghamshire郡)に含まれていなかったという所。
これはかわいそうだ。
